Play Program

A safe space for preschoolers with Autism and their Families

Outside, people look at me like, ‘Why is your child crying so much? Why is your child having a tantrum?’ At the Saturday Program, I feel free; all the parents are going through the same thing, so there is no judgment.
— Angela, Program Participant

Parents of young children with special needs often feel alone and overwhelmed. Things we take for granted suddenly feel impossible; a quick trip to the grocery store, a walk around the block, a play date with another family.

Our Saturday Play Program provides a safe space for preschoolers with Autism and their families, at no cost to them.

While children are engaged in social, gross-motor, and art activities, parents engage in group discussions and instructor-led activities like painting, yoga, and cooking. Our trained staff model techniques that will help parents engage and interact with their child, at home and in the community. And parents get to share advice and experiences with other adults who “get it,” forming bonds that last a lifetime.

Isolation is hard for everyone: but think what it means for young children with Autism.

Children with Autism already struggle to communicate and navigate the world around them. Post-COVID, these young children will need active support to rebuild their social-emotional skills. Their parents, too, will need our support to provide the environment their kids need to thrive.

You can make a critical different in the lives of children and families affected by Autism. Help us build a stronger future.
