The latest in autism research, with resources and tools for educators and families

A national resource advocating for high-quality early childhood education for children from birth to age eight

The Kennedy Child Study Center is an affiliated agency of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. Catholic Charities’ website contains information and resources related to strengthening families and communities by supporting those in need.

Information on early childhood care, nutrition and educational programs in New York State

Information from New York City Department of Health about eating healthy and being physically active in early childhood

Supports families and young children who have or are at risk for developmental delays and disabilities

    • Transitioning to Kindergarten

If your child is transitioning to kindergarten this year, the following resources might be helpful for you:

The DOE provides information about family meetings for incoming kindergarten students with IEPs, especially for students whose kindergarten IEPs were not developed at the school that they will attend. Advocates for Children offers a guide to preschool special education services, available on their website: AFC Guide. The guide covers topics such as eligibility for preschool special education, the four-step process for obtaining services through the Committee on Preschool Special Education, the different types of programs and services available, and what to do if services are not in place.
